There are about 16 beaches on the island. Everyone has the special appeal and is not similar to others. Due to the origin, Koh Samet is coral island and consequently sand there too coral that you will not tell about other islands of Thailand east coast, such as Koh Chang where beaches practically do not meet coral sand.

Sparkling white sand and rocks above the blue sea - is those archipelago of National sea reserve Khao Laem Ya - Mu Ko Samet National Park. The park has been formed in 1981. In structure of reserve have come Koh Samet, cape Khao Laem Ya and 11 kilometers of Mae Ramphueng beach. The group of islands of archipelago includes islands: Ko Kudi, Ko Kruai, Ko Ma Kham, Ko Plai Tin, Ko Thalu and Ko Chan. Each island is good attractions and has the attractive feature which you should estimate necessarily.

Ko Samed island has a lot to see and do. There are some smaller islands in the sea around Koh Samet 30min by speedboat where each can offer the own unique beauty. ANOTHER ATTRACTIONS ON KO SAMED |
The Prince and The Mermaid |
In the southern end of the beach, on a small rock jutting into the sea, stands a sculpture of the Prince and the Mermaid that depicts a scene from the thai 1800-talssagan Phra Aphaimani. Sort of a calling card of the island. The statue was erected in honor of the most famous classic poem - Phra Aphai Manee, history of the princes, wise men, mermaids and giants, which was written 150 years ago by a great Thai poet Sunthorn Phu. The author Sunthorn Phu was one of the country's greatest poets and lived himself on Koh Samet. |

Ko Samed Viewpoint |
Near the road between the eastern and western Koh Samet beaches is a viewpoint on the west coast, just before Ao Prao beach. Here you can see amazing sunsets with a nice view over the surroundings and the sea. There is also a kiosk where you can buy drinks, ice cream and snacks.

Rayong Aquarium

To get there, you will need to return on continent (Ban Phe). The aquarium is located in several kilometers from Ban Phe, aside Rayong. Here known and rare kinds of the underwater world of Thailand are featured. |
