 Malibu is one of the Koh Phangan's most popular beaches. This relatively tranquil place has the only hotel - Malibu Beach Bungalows.
Malibu beach sits on a small islet in western part of ChalokLum bay with superb views over the stunning surroundings of the bay and mountain backdrop. 'Malibu' sparkles at any time of day and is a gem of a beach. If someone would have designed it, no doubt he would be accused of using too many clichés: fine white sand, coconut palms, waves twinkling in the sunlight and a bright blue sea. |

How to Get
|
 The Malibu beach is in the western part of Chaloklum bay, Koh Phangan's north coast. From the village take the small road leading to the sea that says 'Malibu Beach' and follow it. There is a big parkin place nearby Malibu Beach Bungalows. |

The beach Facilities |
 The archetypical tropical beach complete with palms and shady vegetations, white sand and shallow waters. Northerly facing, it can get busy at high season but is pleasantly peaceful at any time.
The Malibu Beach has fantastically clear water for swimming from November to May but is definitely not a swimming beach the rest of the year. There is a small massage pavilion in the shade right next to the restaurant who charge 300 baht an hour. There are no sun beds or body boards for hire. Make sure to take your own towels to sit on.

Malibu Beach Bar and Restaurant |
 There is a single bamboo-and-thatch Thai restaurant and bar right on the beach that is open during all year round. Sit in the shade of large trees and enjoy one of the loveliest spots on the island. The tasty food is fresh, the service humorous, the setting quaint and breezy. This is truly dining with sand between your toes.
Their menu features a good variety of dishes – everything from fried fish with garlic and pepper, fried noodles with pork, phad thai with shrimp, pizza, to spaghetti, sandwiches, ice cream and seasonal fruits. Prices are quite reasonable.

The Malibu Beach Activities |
 Great for swimming from November to April, care should be take in the low tide season (May-October) when there is a shallow waters. Beach wide enough to play volleyball but the main activity here is a relaxation.
There are no snorkeling sites here, but the village has few dive shops including Chaloklum Diving school. Chaloklam’s reliably sheltered bay makes it an perfect place on Koh Phangan for water sports, with kiteboarding, kite surfing, wakeboarding and waterskiing available on a seasonal basis. |

Where to Stay |
 The nearest hotel is Malibu Beach Bungalows a few steps away via bridge joins the beach to the accommodation and swimming pool. The AC and Fan bungalows are set behind the swimming pool and are well crafted with large balconys and lanna style wooden finished interiors and fixtures to create comfort and atmosphere.
