Most Popular Places to Stay in Koh Lanta
|
Koh Lanta is a lovely island with beautiful beaches, magical sunsets and emerald jungle. This is the place where people come back again and again. Staying on the island you will forget about the time spending hours watching silent surf and cancers hermits on the beach. Infinite magic that makes the island so special that can not be dispelled even modern amenities that offer many hotels and resorts most of them are concentrated near popular beaches, with cozy and comfortable bungalow. Now at 25 kilometres of beaches built more than a hundred small resorts.
The first five-star hotels have opened here a few years ago. The owners have kept all the trees and nature. The main goal was to architects built beach resort could not be seen from the sea side, smoothly merging with the beach and nature. One of the most beautiful beaches of Koh-Lanta is Kan Tiang beach (and possibly one of the best beaches in Thailand), is home for Pimalai Resort & Spa, little heaven on earth. Stunningly designed, it offers an excellent level of service. |

Koh Lanta's North-West beaches |
Koh Lanta's north-west coast is the area where the most visitors to island prefer to spend their vacation, because this place is concentrated largest variety of hotels, resorts, restaurants and bars, as well as the main ferry pier taking ferries from Phuket, Krabi, Koh Lipe, Langkawi and Phi Phi. As Klong Dao and Long beach (Phra Ae) have beautiful sandy beaches and fantastic sunsets and range of resorts starts from hotels with five stars and boutique resorts to budget bungalows, while Klong Kong beach mainly attracts crowds of backpackers.
However, despite being most populated area in high season there is still simply to find a quiet spot to take a walk alone along the beach. The road connecting all beaches on West coast of the island is replete with a wide choise of restaurants and bars and is the only private medical clinic and dentist. Staying in north you will never be removed from all temptations more than 10 minutes. |

Koh Lanta's South-West beaches |
The southern half west beaches of Koh Lanta if I may say so, even more relaxing than the north. A large proportion of muslim population means less hedonic scene nightlife and high quality service, and boutique hotels in this part of the island were built here simply because of fantastic beaches. Some visitors to Koh Lanta find the south a little more expensive than north thanks to the lower number of restaurants and high standards of local hotels.
Klong Nin beach and Kantiang beach are two main beaches in southern part of Koh Lanta where the first one takes a more northern position of being in a 10-minute by tuk-tuk from southern neighbor. Klong Nin is quickly becoming main competitor of the pier where as here every year new hotels, bars, restaurants and shops, while Kan Tiang beach is still a small idyllic village limited by size of the bay.
However, if you want absolute privacy head south from Kan Tiang beach to one of last three beaches on the island. The road in this part of Koh Lanta has already been finished, and to get there you no need to rent a four-wheel drive auto/motobike. |
