Information for travel: Phi Phi consists of 6 small Islands lying in Andaman sea in 46 kilometres south-east of Phuket. Beautiful sandy beaches give way to a fabulous limestone rocks, forming a scenic landscape. Add crystal clear water, the full absence of roads, and relaxed lifestyle and you will understand why Koh Phi Phi is one of the most popular holiday destinations in southern Thailand.
Smaller, uninhabited Phi Phi Leh island is a good lure for tourists. Surrounded by sheer limestone cliffs dotted with caves and all sorts of passages, as well as having shallow turquoise lagoons and coral reefs rich in marine life. On the island there are two paradise lagoons: Loh Samah and Maya Bay where was the shooting of a famous Hollywood movies.
Long-tailed boats are the main transport make many secluded beaches around Koh Phi Phi Don is very accessible. Diving and snorkeling near Laem Thong beach and Hua Rah Ket is one of the best. Many diving companies offer tours under the logo of "all inclusive". |

Thai Festivals and Events |
Every year, more and more Thais are traveling in time for festivals, weekends and holidays, so hotels, ferries and planes can be crowded, especially from Bangkok - clogged full. Below are some of the more important dates that need to pay attention to when planning your trip.
- January: New Year. Abate about the 6th of January.
- February: Chinese New Year. The date changes with the lunar calendar around the 2nd full moon. The ferry is full.
- April: Songkran Festival (Thai New Year). This is a water festival in mid-April, when many Thais go home. Expect at this time problems with tickets for transport, as buses, airplanes, and ferries are very full. This is the main holiday in Thailand. After meeting with the families of the majority of Thai people go on holiday to the sea, lightning filling hotels.
- November: Loy Krathong. Beautiful festival of candles, lights and glowing balloons. Not too many people travelling at this time of year.
- December: Christmas. High season. Book tickets and hotels in advance. |
