How to Get to Phi Phi Island from Phuket, Ao Nang, Railay beach and Krabi

Ferries and Speedboats to Phi Phi
|
 Phi Phi is really a typical tropical paradise island but first to enjoy this place - you needs to get there. Koh Phi Phi is located 46 kilometers from Phuket and about the same distance from Krabi.
To get Phi Phi island from Phuket, Ao Nang, Railay and Krabi mainly in two ways: by ferry and by speed boat. Travel time by ferry 90 minutes, by speed-boat 45 minutes. As you can see the difference is small. |

 Ferries to Phi Phi
|
 The Ferry certainly the most popular way in this destination. The journey from Phuket takes approximately two hours and 90 minutes from Krabi or Koh Lanta.
The upper deck of the ferry divided in half, as sundeck being a great place for taking sea sunbathing. The lower deck offers space with conditioned air, as well as drinks and snacks available on board. Phuket ferry pier is within an hour's by taxi from the airport and travel time from Krabi airport takes 30 minutes.
From time to time the ferry is a bit crowded with tourists, and if you want to get better place in peak season it is advisable to arrive early, and during the low travel season, you can arrive to the pier for half an hour. Toilets are usually clean, and the trips are on schedule. In the low season travel by sea may from time to time to cause some discomfort depending on the height of the waves, but on the whole trip go smoothly enough.
All ferries come to Tonsai pier. Further travelers depart for their hotels. Depending on what part of Koh Phi Phi Don you stopped the boat ride up to a maximum of 45 minutes. It's basically the resorts on the north of the island: Holiday Inn Phi Phi, Zeavola Resort and Outrigger Phi Phi.
Daily from Krabi and Phuket are two trips: there and back. The departure time may vary, but the ferries usually start around 8.30-10.00 and 13.30-14.30. In high season (november to april) ferries from Phi Phi runs to Koh Lanta; times of departure is similar to the above. |

From Phuket, Krabi, Ao Nang to Phi Phi by speedboat |
 Private speedboat as popular way to get to Phi Phi. Basically, this charter trips so the time of departure and intermediate stops tend to flexibly vary, depending on the situation and you can save a lot of time and money when speedboat will take you directly to the "gate" of your resort.
And again, in most time of year these trips irregular and during strong sea waves (september to october) is not comfortable. It is obvious that speedboats more expensive than the ferry, but for big groups they can be a great option, since the cost of renting boats divided by all travellers. |
